Pell Grant Overview

What Is a Pell Grant?

The federal Pell Grant helps students who have the greatest financial need. Eligible students can receive as much as $5,350. Most colleges participate in the Pell Grant program, and Pell eligibility is a prerequisite for many other federal aid programs.

Pell Grant Eligibility and Award Amounts

The Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students with the highest financial need. Eligibility for the Pell Grant is based on the college's published cost of attendance (COA), your expected family contribution (EFC), and your enrollment status.

Applying for a Pell Grant

Apply for a Pell Grant by completing a federal student aid application (FAFSA). If you are eligible, the colleges that accept you will automatically include the Pell Grant in your student aid award.

What you do is great. I wish I would have found out about this earlier, because it would have made financial aid so much easier. There have been times in the past when I have missed deadlines because I did not sign something; something was not filled out properly; or this, that, or the other. I commend you, and applaud you for your ability and responsibility of keeping us on track, and just the way you are able to simplify it for people. I think it is great. If you do advertise, there needs to be more of it. I am a junior and this is the first year I have ever heard about it, and I think it is phenomenal. I definitely would recommend it to anybody.
