Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC)
The military's Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) provides many scholarships
to college students. The money you receive may be spent on tuition and fees, books
and supplies, and incidentals. By joining the ROTC program, you will participate
in military-specific courses and training, and have a military service obligation
after graduation. While in ROTC, you can enjoy many typical college experiences,
such as participating in fraternities and sororities, sports, dorm life or off-campus
housing, and other extracurricular activities. You are free to take courses in any
subject and pursue a degree of your choice.
ROTC programs are available with the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The Navy ROTC also
commissions officers into the U.S. Marines. Each service branch offers different
scholarship benefits, but all scholarships include full or partial tuition benefits
and stipends for living expenses. Here are the details:
